BECAUSE THESE CONDITIONS EXIST:
• Current policy is not just towards consumers, minority groups, ect.
• People do not have the opportunities to create policy that affect them
AND BECAUSE THESE OPPORTUNITIES ARE POSSIBLE:
• Networking potentials
• Alliances and coalitions that already exist, as well as institutions that are around that already are committed to this
• There is a need for understandable resources in our communities
WE COMMIT TO THIS ACTION:
Condition
Because communities of Color are targeted by law enforcement and the prison industry; and because there are viable alternatives to incarceration and deportation; we commit to an education process to unite poor communities of color that would reach these goals.
Resolutions
1. Educate each others’ communities about each others’ struggles
2. Create alternative economic solutions
3. Educate people about their rights in the workplace and civil rights
4. Do anti-racism workshops within these communities
5. Do Truth Commissions – where we share our stories with each other
