Welcome! This site is here to help you plug into the US Social Forum organizing efforts. If you haven't already, please register for the forum and propose a workshop.
Attending the social forum and organizing a session are critically important for all activists on the left. However, there are many more ways you can be involved in building the biggest left gathering in the United States in recent history. This site outlines four ways to join:
- Assemblies: The Peoples Movement Assembly is gathering of people to discuss and analyze our conditions, to come up with demands, commitments, and visions for how things could be different. The PMA is a facilitated space to decide and coordinate, actions that will bring us closer to those visions. PMAs are being organized all across the country building up to the US Social Forum.
- Brigades: Want to get to know a different Detroit? Organize or join a work brigade to partner with local organizations and volunteer before, during or after the forum.
- Caravans: Travel to the forum in a caravan - organizing and educating people along the way about why we are gathering and the world we know is possible.
- Detroit Expanded: Not everyone can travel to Detroit. You can help make the forum accessible to the people back home by organizing a simultaneous Detroit Expanded event to happen in your town during the forum. The USSF will help with technical hookups for live interactions with participants in Detroit.
